powell street passionHey, I can do that. It’s a great thought to have. Finding something you’re passionate about, and then believing in your capacity to contribute in the same realm. That’s where the magic happens. It goes by the name, Success.

David Bowkett said it when he started Powell Street Craft Brewery.

We’re sure that Dare’s new Creative Directors said it more than once.

And you probably say it too: every time you take on the Grouse Grind or get on your bike in the rain.

Our goal with this blog has always been the opportunity to share some of the “Stand Apart” factor that we’re privy to in connecting individuals with some of Vancouver’s top marketing, sales and communications roles. It’s also about celebrating this jewel of a city we live in: Vancouver.

So here’s our quick scan of some current local ‘bests’: #standapart talent, beer, social enterprise, and some solid mind-expanding (but otherwise waistline eliminating) ideas to work off any extra, long weekend indulgences.

As if the world’s top scoop of gelato wasn’t enough, Vancouver is now home to Canada’s  finest craft beer. The less-than microbrewery, Powell Street Craft, won top spot for their Old Jalopy Ale out of 764 entrants from 120 craft breweries across Canada. Oh, and the #standapart factor, they’re only in their first year of operation. If you’re looking to get inspired to think big, watch here.

Did you know that Vancouver is home to the highest concentration of social enterprises in Canada? Last week, the city reaffirmed its support of the social enterprise sector in the form of a $380,000 grant benefiting two leading organizations.

We’ve been taking this article to heart and working in a few midday sojourns to the greener spots on the seawall whenever we can. And you know what? It works. Fussy-brain is often lifted. Now we’re wondering: if 15 minutes in “green space” can do that, what might one of these Vancouver

3% might do for your latest DM drop, but what about as the percentage of females holding creative director roles in ad agencies? Pretty dismal. Luckily, this talented duo has tipped the numbers for Vancouver in their new roles at Dare Vancouver.
